Job Summary:
The Central Sterile Services Department (CSSD), also known as the Sterile Processing Department (SPD), Central Supply Department (CSD), or simply Central Supply, is an integral part of hospitals and other healthcare facilities. This department is responsible for the sterilization and preparation of medical devices, equipment, and consumables for use by healthcare professionals in operating rooms and other aseptic procedures.
Qualifications:
Diploma or equivalent degree in a relevant course and certification in sterile processing and distribution.
Certification as a CRCST (Certified Registered Central Service Technician) and CHL (Certified Healthcare Leader) under the Healthcare Sterile Processing Association (HSPA), or CPSDT (Certified Sterile Processing and Distribution Technician) and CSPDM (Certified Sterile Processing and Distribution Management) under the CBSPD.
Minimum of 2 years of experience working as a technician in a tertiary hospital.
NC 2 certification is advantageous.
Completion of a Teachers Methodology Course Level 1 (Trainers/Assessors) under the Technical Education and Skills Development Authority (TESDA).
